North Star Aberdeenshire (16-24yr)

North Star Aberdeenshire provides practical, compassionate support for young people aged 16–24 in Aberdeenshire who are navigating life with ADHD. We see ADHD as a different way of thinking and focus on the strengths that come with it. Support is calm, predictable and built on trust, with space for you to set goals that matter to you and build confidence in your own abilities.

What support looks like

Our sessions can help with a wide range of needs, including (but not limited to):

You have the opportunity to meet with a worker who understands ADHD and listens without judgement. Sessions can take place indoors, outdoors or through activities that help you feel comfortable. Support is tailored to your interests and focuses on the areas you want help with, using approaches that work for you.
Together, you might look at what ADHD means for you, why certain things feel harder or more draining, how to manage stress and overwhelm, building routines that suit your brain, staying motivated, navigating school, college or work, or using movement and the outdoors to feel more regulated.
Whether you have a confirmed diagnosis or you’re still exploring it, you’re welcome. You don’t need everything figured out — you just need to show up.

How this support can help

We hope this support helps you feel understood, make sense of your ADHD, cope better with daily stress, build confidence, find strategies that fit your brain and feel more in control.

Our approach

North Star is built on respect, choice and understanding. There’s no pressure, no fixing, no shame and no expectation to mask. You get space to talk, think and work things through at your own pace. Sessions use your interests — art, music, walking, gaming, sport or being outdoors — to make the work feel natural, comfortable and supportive.
