About Us
At ADHD Adventures, we believe every child deserves a place where they can just be themselves — no pressure, no judgement, just plenty of kindness, understanding, and support.
We're a friendly, inclusive charity based in Aberdeenshire, supporting children and young people with a confirmed or suspected ADHD diagnosis — and their families too! Whether it's through support groups, shared activities, or simply being there to listen, we help families connect, share experiences, and feel less alone. Our goal is to build a community where kids feel important, parents feel supported, and everyone is free to celebrate what makes them wonderfully unique.
Our registered charity number is SC053898
Meet the Team
Laura
I’m Laura, and I live in Aberdeenshire with my husband, our two children, and our dog JJ, who often comes out with me to meet the children and young people we support.
I’m a mum to a child with ADHD, so I understand first‑hand how brilliant, funny, energetic and creative our young people can be, and also how tough things can feel at times. Alongside my lived experience, I’ve worked with children and families as a social worker for 18 years, and I’ve seen how challenging it can be to navigate school, routines, emotions and the world when ADHD is part of the picture.
By working with ADHD Adventures, I hope to make things a little easier for families and to help young people feel understood, supported and celebrated for who they are.
Outside of work, I love going for walks, finding good coffee and cake, and playing board games with my family. I am absolutely terrified of spiders
Steph
I am Steph and I am a Social Worker with 15 years of experience supporting children, young people, and families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with education, health, and communities, building strong relationships and helping families navigate the challenges.
A big part of my work has involved supporting children and young people with ADHD. I’ve seen first-hand how ADHD affects not only the individual but the whole family — the pressure, the misunderstanding, the resilience, and the constant adapting. This understanding is personal for me to where I bring lived experience in witnessing the day‑to‑day realities families face and the difference the right support can make to many.
Outside of work, I’m someone who thrives on movement and the outdoors. I play sport, enjoy indoor climbing, touch rugby, and hiking, and I’ve always believed in the power of fresh air and physical activity to help children, young people and adults feel grounded and confident. A place where they can connect, reset, and discover what they’re capable of.
I hope to support families I work with to feel truly seen and valued — and for children especially, to feel proud of who they are, not pressured to be anything else. My goal is to help them thrive in their own way.
